IACCM’s gesture for Carillion Staff

In the wake of Carillion’s demise, there has been a lot of discussion around what caused it, how it could have been prevented and what should organisations do in the future to prevent something like this from happening again.

In the middle of all of this, a professional organisation has come forward to help some of the Carillion’s staff affected by it. The International Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM) has announced that in the spirit of helping its community, it will be offering a free one-year full membership to Carillion staff. They have a job portal for their own members and it is a great platform for connecting with fellow commercial managers. I hope that this will help Carillion’s commercial staff to find suitable opportunities in the near future.

Here is the full statement released by them:

“Carillion’s collapse has put many commercial staff out of work. At IACCM, we care about our community of commercial professionals and want to help Carillion staff to connect and find new opportunities. We are therefore offering free IACCM membership for one year. In addition, for those seeking to boost their credentials, we are offering a 50% discount on our CCM & SRM training programmes. (Must be commenced within the next 90 days)”

I think that it is refreshing to see a professional organisation coming forward to serve the broader community and it is indeed a great gesture on Carillion’s part.

Cheers, Jas
